The Eastside MTA Chapter holds general meetings every month except December, March, June, July, and August. Several opportunities are available for students of active members.
Membership
Active membership is open to all individuals professionally engaged in any field of musical activity, upon application and payment of requisite fees. All members of WSMTA local chapters shall be members of WSMTA. All WSMTA members shall be members of the Music Teachers’ National Association, Inc., MTNA.
Student Events
Join by August 1 ~ to enter students in the MTNA Performance, WSMTA Outstanding Artists Competitions,
and MTNA Composition Competition.
October 15 ~ to enter students in Chapter MAP .
January 2 ~ [new members] to participate in WSMTA MAP.

Purpose
To conduct programs and activities to build a vital musical culture and an enlightened musical public for the benefit and the general welfare of all persons;
To ensure that every student shall have access to a balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality program of music instruction;
To improve the quality of teaching, research, and scholarship in music; To promote the involvement of persons of all ages in learning music;
To foster the utilization of the most effective techniques and resources in music instruction; and,
To facilitate the education of music teachers.
