Visiting Artist
Dr. Renato Fabbro
Pianist Renato Fabbro was awarded the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Rice University. He studied with Larry Graham, Angela Cheng, and John Perry, and won the Adeline Rosenberg Memorial First Prize at the Fort Collins Symphony National Young Artist Competition, as well as first prize in the Grand Junction Symphony National Young Artist Competition. He has judged many competitions and festivals throughout the U.S. and Canada, and his students are frequent prize winners in national, regional and state competitions. They have also appeared as soloists with various symphony orchestras. Dr. Fabbro is a member of the artistic advisory panel for the Bellevue Symphony and Pacific International Piano Competitions. As part of the Martingale Ensemble, he recorded music of Claude Debussy and Gustav Mahler with members of the Oregon Symphony on the MSR Classics label. He has taught at several colleges, including the University of Portland and Marylhurst University, and his students have been accepted into top piano performance degree programs, including Oberlin Conservatory, Eastman School of Music, Indiana University, Peabody Conservatory, Cleveland Institute of Music, and Rice University Shepherd School of Music.

Hannah Cho
Born in South Korea, pianist Hannah Cho is a versatile performer who enjoys playing a wide variety of repertoire. She appears as a soloist as well as a collaborative artist.
As a dedicated teacher, Ms. Cho is devoted to piano pedagogy. She has an active career as an adjudicator and clinician. She is frequently invited as a judge for regional and international piano competitions.
Ms. Cho performed as a soloist and collaborative artist worldwide. She played in South Korea, Japan, Bulgaria, and the U.S. In addition to many other prestigious concert venues, Ms. Cho has performed at the Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in New York City.
Her performing career as a concert pianist also includes performances with orchestras, such as Dong-A University Orchestra, Vidin Symphony, Pancho Vladigerov Academy Orchestra, and Olympia Chamber Orchestra. Her most recent performance with an orchestra was in Bulgaria where Ms. Cho played W. Stenhammar’s Piano Concerto No.2 with the VratzaSymphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Nickolas Carlson.
She participated in numerous competitions and won several national and international competitions, including the Korea Music Association Piano Competition, American Protégé International Competition (2015), and the American Prize Competition for solo (2013) and concerto divisions (2020).
As a recipient of full scholarships, she completed her bachelor’s degree in piano performance at Dong-A University in Korea. Later, she went to Sofia, Bulgaria for further study, where she earned a Master’s degree and konzertexamen from Pancho Vladigerov-National Music Academy. She studied under the tutelage of Prof. Anton Dikov, Elena Dikova and Daniela Dikova.
Currently, Hannah Cho serves as an adjunct member of Music Department at Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, WA. She also maintains a large private studio. As a performer, Ms. Cho stands out in chamber music and connects with audience members. The ensemble ‘Forza La Femme,’ a performing organization for classical music of which she is a founding member, actively performs since its establishment. Most recently, she formed Duo Amabile, a piano duo, which completed its first tour in South Korea with huge success.

Fabio Menchetti

A native of Lucca, Italy, Fabio Menchetti serves as Assistant Professor of Piano
at Washington State University, while maintaining an active performance career.
He has performed in many Italian cities – Florence, Bologna, Lucca, La Spezia, Parma, Torino – as well as in Poland, France, and in Germany, where he gave a solo recital for the 2011 Liszt bicentenary celebrations in Bayreuth.
Dr. Menchetti has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Italy and the US, and he regularly concertizes throughout the United States, both as a soloist and a chamber musician.
For Sheva Collection he recorded Libro di Canti Italiano, a set of solo piano pieces by English composer Peter Seabourne, and Novecento Italiano, featuring music for violin and piano by Italian composers written between the two world wars. He also recorded John Adams’ Grand Pianola Music with the CCM Wind Symphony for Klavier Records. Upcoming releases include Crossroads (works for tuba and piano by living composers), All Are Welcome (new works for bassoon, oboe, and piano), and an album featuring music for bassoon and piano by Native American composers.
Prior to joining Washington State University, Dr. Menchetti has taught piano in many diverse settings, from Italian junior high schools to American colleges. Winner of the College-Conservatory of Music Excellence in Teaching Award for the best doctoral teaching assistant, after completing his doctorate he returned to CCM as a visiting instructor of piano and piano pedagogy.
As an active member of Music Teachers National Association and College of Music Society, he is frequently invited to present at regional, national, and international conferences, offering a broad range of subjects such as teaching strategies, pedagogical piano literature, and preparing students to enter the professional world. A sought-after adjudicator and clinician, he is regularly requested for masterclasses at universities and in private studios.
Dr. Menchetti is also the coordinator of the Piano Pedagogy Laboratory School at WSU, where his college students gain teaching experience and through directed mentoring are trained to become the next generation of piano teachers.
Dr. Menchetti received his Bachelor of Music from Boccherini Conservatory in Lucca, and his Master of Music and Music Education from Puccini Conservatory in La Spezia. After moving to the United States, he received his Master of Arts from Houghton College, and his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from College-Conservatory Music, University of Cincinnati. His primary teachers include Pier Narciso Masi, Enrico Stellini, Pietro De Maria, Andrea Lucchesini, William John Newbrough, and Michael Chertock.

Registration Procedure
1. Log in to wsmta.org using your membership # and password.
2. Print out and follow the Music Artistry Program booklet https://wsmta.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/2023-2024-MAP-Booklet.pdf
3. Complete the online Teacher Registration Form for the Music Artistry Program, observing all instructions in the “Must Read” document.
4. Pay online.
5. Print one copy of the Registration for your records.
6. Pay your Student Chapter Fee ($10 x number of participating MAP students) AND submit your request for a location or a date or a Visiting Artist.
