Student Recitals

We are pleased to offer fellow EMTA studios and students the opportunity to perform within the chapter. Instrumentalists and vocalists, as well as pianists, are welcome to perform. Ensemble playing is allowed. Pieces do not have to be memorized, and there is no formal dress required. There is no cash deposit required; however, teachers are required to be EMTA registered members. These exciting recitals will be held at Northwest Pianos in Bellevue at 5-6:30pm on the following Sundays.

Performance Order is determined by age, from youngest to oldest student.
Reservation Period opens on Monday, 4 weeks prior to the recital date, and closes on Sunday, 2 weeks prior to the recital date. Reservation of performance Spots at the recitals is on a first come, first served basis, but teachers who have not previously participated in the EMTA Student Recitals will be given priority. Each teacher can reserve up to 15 minutes of time for the total repertoire. If the recital reservation is full, the request will be placed on the waitlist.
All Performers and Teachers are required to participate and listen to the entire recital. All shall arrive at the venue before 4:45pm and finish confirming their name and age no later than 4:55pm. There is no late arrival, early dismissal, and absence for the performance. Failing to attend fully will result in disqualification for participating in later recitals for one year.
During the Performance: Students shall announce their names and pieces to the audience, and bow before and after their playing. Audience must stay quiet without talking and walking to respect the on-stage performance. Teachers are responsible for handling their students’ behaviors.
To register students for any of these recitals, please email Dr. Pei-Hsin Kao at any time up to two weeks before the recital with the following information: 1) the name and age of the students, 2) the title and time of the repertoire.
